I've just finished my first day as a paid contractor at DICE, with the job-title "Audio Artist". :3
Recentley, I finished my education of "Sound and Music-setting engineering", and I did my final thesis concerning worldizing and convolution reverb at DICE. I guess I did something right during my thesis-time there, as they hooked me up for three months to help the audio-team out with various (rather basic) sound-related duties, which mean I'll be working some with Battlefield 3.
It's nothing fancy, really as, apart from the thesis-period that streched for three months, I'm completley new to sound design for games. But it's a major chanse to work with what by many people (and awards...) considered to be The best audio-team in the world (as far as shooters goes...), and I'm gonna learn sooooo much doing it. Not to speak of eventual references if I do a good job...
The staff I'm working with are not only extremley talented, they also happen to be a bunch of awesome people. I'm just afraid the coming three months are gonna pass by waaaaay too fast... :3
But yeah, I couldn't be more ^__________________________________^ about this, really. The sun is shining here in Stockholm, litterally and figurativley speaking.
This do mean that my activity on NG will be continuously low, quite possibly even lower than over the last few months, but we'll see how things turn out. I'll still be helping out with modding the BBS, and I'm still listed as an audio-moderator. I'll continue to check in every day, as I try to vote every day, but I may be slower replying to PM etc.
