This was by far...

...one of the worst things I´ve heard on NG AP. The worst thing is that it kindof seem as if you mean it.

What´s the whole point of a disting piece of audio? I see no point reviewing any deeper then this even :/

Next time, try at least a little....

DJSoundVision responds:

ok, I want to help translate your launguage...I AM A WHORE WHO SUCKS HIS DAD...and in a more serious way of saying it, dude u take ng too seriously, u wrote a whole paragraph about how my song sucks... I just want a couple of downloads, go ahead and compare this songs downloads to weenie camps downloads, apparently people would rather have this on their comp than my other song...conclusion = your a dutche and people would rather listen to loud screeches than songs...

I really like the sound of this...

... there is definitley loads of potential here!
The intro sounded slightly dirty when it came to quality though, and the bass felt stereowidened? Never do that to low end material :)

The higher end felt crispy and clear, you would get away with it being as clear as it is (the hihat mainly) if it weren´t for the fact that the bass doesn´t have the fat drive it need.

I saw your little add in the C&C DnB thread, and I just made a little "tutorial". Go check it out, you might get a few tip for making a fat bassline :)

Anyway, I really like this song man, it really is cool as hell! I loved the way you used the flanger in the end of the song (I´ve done that a couple of times myself, i know the reason flang when i hear it :).

You have really sweet filtering going on at some places, did you notch filter some of the stuff? It sounds really cool. is this all reason, btw?

Anyway, great job mate! Been a while since i heard a dnb tune this good on NG!!!

If you havent heard it, I made a non-vox version of "EmoBitch", and remade a few things... But it´s nothing compared with the DnB stuff I´m currently working on :)

FIF´N!!!

lol stalk!

Helloooooo....

...sidechaining :)

Nah, it´s an interesting experiment, it really does get extremley thumping when you do it right...

This song is imo a little too weak though, you should have played around more with the bassline (like benassi:) perhaps filtered it around, brought it through some automated phasing, maybe even flanging/chorus etc... But like I mentioned, it´s interesting :)

synteza responds:

Interesting use of a happy face as a right bracket. I'll keep it in mind for my next song.

You know what, following your suggestions requires little work, so I will submit a remake of this song sometime soon. Maybe I'll even throw in Microsoft Sam.

I only miss...

...some subtle unrecognizable ULULLULUWWUUUWUWUUWUWUROFLMAOOOULLULULULU growls.

Nah, great shit mate, you´ve got hte drums sorted out really smacky and really good. I didn´t know you got payyed making htem, that´s pretty hardcore (i guess thats how it is since you said yo u practicly work making drums").

Been a while since I listened through your stuff, I gotta see if I can fit some more time listening and reviewing some of yours this weekend... You´ve gota lot of good sorted out mate! Keep em comin´!

jarrydn responds:

Cheers man :)

Yeah, I get payed from time to time to program drum tracks. It's pretty good money as long as you find a constant stream of work.

Alot of the time I only have to provide the MIDI file :D

Really nice...

...sound and glitches in the intro. Its a really mellow thing here, and in some places it did feel kinda empty, when the minimalistic lead played around a bit. Perhaps you should try layering the lead (and other instruments/channels), double them up and mess one up with delay and a lil reverb to make the song a little fuller... this could go for any instrument really... it´s just a nice technique that I felt would do good for this song :)

Anyway, I liked the song, it brought a really mysterious feeling around. Good job mate.

I did like...

...this song. Really smooth synth from the start, but the guitar-sounding sample and the bass felt veru un-processed and raw. The mix asn´t the best either...

I don´t know if you made the baet yourself from skratch, or if you found a sample and used it, but the beat was smooth, epsecially when the second beat loop came in. However, the beat was waaay too generic, even if you did use a premade loop, it´s not forbidden to slice and dice it up some, and perhaps do some filter sweeps or whatever... A few magic trix like that, and this song would have been alot more appealing, im telling ya...

Overall a nice song that I definitley liked! Relaxing feeling!
Good job.

Basicly...

...this mix reaaaaally sucked, was out of sync, disted like holy hell and simply sucked ass.

I don´t know what you were trying to do, but dude, it really failed...
You should definitley try to learn some basics... Why not begin by checking this page out;

http://www.newgrounds.com/audio/sticky.html

Visit the Audio Forum and lurk through the threads in there... You´ll most likely pick up a thing or two and after a while you might be ready to try again.

Good luck in the future...

rioross responds:

how it sounds is how i want it to sound

Well...

...this sounds decent enough, but it´s very simple, and just because a song "sounds" simple, it doesn´t have to be that. This son however, reaaally sound simple all the way through, wich in this case is a bad thing.
Don´t get me wrong, i think it´s a decent loop... so why make it so long?

As for the samples you´ve used, it´s difficult to tell if you´ve even processed them yourself, as far as I know this may be all pure samples, wich really isn´t that difficult to mix together, now is it?

Anyway, like mentioned it does sond pretty cool, but very very empty. Even though there seem to be good reverb on the stings (your doing or pure smpled, i dunno), but the delayed guitar sounds really really cheap.
The bassy hit that runs through is pretty cool, but a suggestion to you is to try to keep the sounds that are loudest in the lower freq. mono, there are many reasons for this; if record played off of vinyl, it may skip if bass is panned/stereo widened, bass freq. contains alot of enery, this mean you basicly unbalance the whole mix when doing this.

Anyway, cool beat, and good luck with future project. I hope this is helping you out some.

BotonyProduktions responds:

Thanks for the review man. Ill take any help that I can get. I didn't use any samples man. I don't use "Samples" in any of my work. It's all FL Studio and Pro Tools.

ONE LOVE

UUURGGJHHH...

... i really hope you learned alot from eq-ing this stuff, and i definitley hope you´ll never repeat this EQ-abomination >:D

lolz

DJRunaway responds:

*BooM* Headshot!

Ya little ass...

...ya left me all alone on msn... ur gonna pay for that.-.. >: (

Anyway, this sounds cool. But somehow i get a freakin deja-vu from your previous DnB track we discussed many months ago... yea thats right, the fucking bass is sliiightly on the right on thisone as well >:O

Keep ur bass mono, matie!! >:)

Other than that, this sounds like it has potential, I´d make a more powerfull and buzzinig reece were I you though, the one that´s there is pretty cool, but sounds a little too basic, to be honest.

Try to get your subbass to go "bwaaaouuubwaooouuu", you know how to do it... If not, just set to sine osc exactly the same, except for the cent... set the cent on opposite values (20 and -20 for example) and sample the sound, then pitch shift in whatever software u use nowadays...

By the way, that subbass could have use for juuuust alitttttlllee tiiiny bit of distortion... It sounds great to override a compressor and dist it...
Ya probably knew all this, but whatever... there´s my opinion anyway >:D

Check my tracks some day, will ya? :´(

c u on msn

DJRunaway responds:

Thanks for the review man :) To be quiet honest, I didn't knew any of that :) I'm still kind of a noob in the DnB scene :) You gotte explain all that shit to me on MSN man, I'm really eager to learn! Thanks again for the kickass review!
